Have armed conflicts been a stimulus for peace and European unity?

A four-item questionnaire prepared by students was presented to people who had experienced war or post-war and its consequences. Each school was in charge of one of the questions and collected the corresponding video interviews from the partners. Then, they prepared a video comparing the answers of people from different countries.

Students prepared a presentation about differents aspects of the cultural heritage of their town, region or country.

Study of the evolution of social graces


Students studied which were the courtesies and standard polite forms of addressing people that their parents and grandparents used, and they compared them with those that they use today. What changes have occurred? Which ones are still in use and which have disappeared?

Meeting Siracusa February 17th


     We went for a walk through the Archaeological Park of Siracuse, where we could contemplate the ‘latomias’, Dionisius’ Ear, the Greek theatre, Ierone’s shrine and the Roman amphitheatre.
     Later, we visited the Arquimedes's Museum, where we could see replicas and escale models of the machines invented by this wise man of ancient times.
     In the evening, we had a farewell party in the school hall.

Meeting Siracusa February 16th


We visited Ragusa Ibla and its baroque monuments. We had a little snack there and later we went for a walk on Puntasecca’s beach. After that, we headed for Modica, had lunch there and afterwards we visited a chocolate factory. The final leg of the trip was Noto.

Meeting Siracusa February 15th

We went for a stroll from the school to Siracusa's historic centre. There, students played in groups an orienteering game in order to identify the most important buildings in town. Later, we were received by the Mayor in Palazzo Vermeixo, Siracusa's Town Hall.



In the afternoon we visited the Papyrus Museum, where we could learn the procedure to make it useful for writing.

Meeting Siracusa February 14th

Este día fuimos de excursión a un pueblo llamado Buscemi, en donde visitamos su museo etnoantropológico y los alumnos pudieron ver las casas y lugares de trabajo de sus antiguos habitantes. Después de comer, fuimos a Palazzolo Acreide, un bonito pueblo barroco.

We made a trip to Buscemi and its ethnoanthropological museum. The students could visit the houses and workshops of its former inhabitants. After lunch, we went to Palazzolo Acreide, a beautiful baroque village.

Meeting Siracusa February 13th

Reunión de profesores y alumnos en el hall de la escuela. El director, Sebastiano Rizza, nos dedicó unas palabras de bienvenida. Los alumnos italianos tocaron los himnos nacionales de los cuatro países, y el cantante siciliano Ernesto Caliri interpretó unas canciones tradicionales.

Meeting of teachers and students at the school hall. The headmaster, Sebastiano Rizza, said some warm words of welcome. The Italian students played the national anthems of the four countries, and the Sicilian singer Ernesto Caliri played some traditional songs.








Después los alumnos presentaron los trabajos que habían preparado para el encuentro.

Después de comer, los alumnos representaron un "mannequin challenge" sobre la amistad.
After lunch, students acted out a mannequin challenge about friendship.
