Looking back, we realize that we have
inherited fundamental values, which have granted us rights which didn't exist
only a few years ago, and social, scientific and technological advances as
well.
Volviendo la vista atrás, nos damos cuenta de que hemos heredado valores fundamentales que nos han garantizado derechos que no existían tan solo hace unos años, y además avances sociales, científicos y tecnológicos.
Students prepared a presentation which
explained the changes in the environment, from a natural, urban… point of view
in their towns or regions of origin.
Los estudiantes prepararon una presentación que explicaba los cambios en el medio ambiente desde un punto de vista natural, urbanístico, etc. en sus ciudades o regiones.
And in the evening, as it has become curstomary, there was a farewell party with lots of delicious food parents had prepared and some music and dancing as well.
Y por la tarde, como ya es costumbre, hubo una fiesta de despedida con montones de deliciosa comida preparada por los padres, y también algo de música y baile.
On the last day of the meeting in
Valladolid, we celebrated a heartfelt end-of-project event, in which we
recapped on all the work that had been done during these past two years, all
the places we had visited, and all the friends we had made.
Some of the students that had participated
in the project read a text by Spanish film director Luis Buñuel, in which he
made some reflections on memory. This text was read in the four languages of
the four partner countries.
Ceremonia de Clausura El último día del encuentro en Valladolid, celebramos una sentida ceremonia de fin del proyecto, en la cual recordamos todo el trabajo que se había hecho durante los pasados dos años, todos los lugares que habíamos visitado, y todos los amigos que habíamos encontrado en el camino.
Algunos de los alumnos participantes leyeron un texto escrito por el director de cine español Luis Buñuel, en el que hacía algunas reflexiones sobre la memoria. Este texto fue leído en las cuatro lenguas de los cuatro países socios.
Hay que haber comenzado a perder la memoria, aunque sólo sea a retazos,
para darse cuenta de que esta memoria es lo que constituye toda nuestra vida.
Una vida sin memoria no sería vida, como una inteligencia sin posibilidad de
expresarse no sería inteligencia. Nuestra memoria es nuestra coherencia,
nuestra razón, nuestra acción, nuestro sentimiento. Sin ella no somos nada...
La memoria, indispensable y portentosa, es también frágil y vulnerable. No está
amenazada sólo por el olvido, su viejo enemigo, sino también por los falsos
recuerdos que van invadiéndola día tras día... La memoria es invadida
continuamente por la imaginación y el ensueño y, puesto que existe la tentación
de creer en la realidad de lo imaginario, acabamos por hacer una verdad de
nuestra mentira. Lo cual, por otra parte, no tiene sino una importancia
relativa, ya que tan vital y personal es la una como la otra.
Il faut avoir commencé à
perdre la mémoire, bien qu'il soit seulement à coupons, pour se rendre compte
que cette mémoire est ce qui constitue toute notre vie. Une vie sans mémoire ne
serait pas vie, comme une intelligence sans la possibilité de s'exprimer ne
serait pas intelligence. Notre mémoire est notre cohérence, notre raison, notre
action, notre sentiment. Sans elle nous ne sommes rien. La mémoire,
indispensable et prodigieuse, est aussi fragile et vulnérable. Elle n'est pas
menacée seulement par l'oubli, son vieux ennemi, mais aussi par les faux
souvenirs qui vont en l'envahissant jour après jour. La mémoire est
continuellement envahie par l'imagination et le rêve et, puisqu'il existe la
tentation de croire en réalité de l'imaginaire, nous finissons pour faire une
vérité de notre mensonge. Par ailleurs, tout cela n’a qu’une importance
relative, puisque si vitale et personnelle c’est la vérité que le mensonge.
Man muss erst
anfangen, die erinnerungen zu verlieren, wenn auch nur bruchstückhaft, um zu
bemerken, dass diese unser aller leben bilden. Ein leben ohne erinnerung wäre
kein leben, genauso wenig wie eine intelligenz, welche nicht die möglichkeit
hat sich aus zu drücken, keine intelligenz wäre. Unsere erinnerung ist unser
zusammenhang, unsere vernunft, unsere handlung, unser gefühl. Ohne sie sind wir
nichts... Die erinnerung, unabdingbar und wunderbar, ist zugleich zerbrechlich
und verletzlich. Sie wird nicht nur von der vergessenheit, ihrem ältesten
feind, bedroht, sondern auch von den falschen erinnerungen, welche sie tag für
tag heimsuchen... Kontinuierlich dringen die imagination und die träumerei in
die erinnerung ein und weil die versuchung besteht eine realität zu schaffen,
welche durch die einbildung kreiert wird, enden wir damit, eine wahrheit aus
unserer lüge zu machen. Das wiederum hat eine genauso relative wichtigkeit,
beide wahrheiten, die eine wie die andere, sind lebhaft und persönlich.
Bisognarebbe aver iniziato a perdere la
memoria, anche fosse solo a frammenti, per rendersi conto di che questa memoria
è ciò che forma tutta la nostra vita. Una vita senza memoria non sarebbe vita,
come un' intelligenza senza possibilità d'espressione non sarebbe intelligenza.
La nostra memoria è la nostra coerenza, la nostra ragione la nostra azione, il
nostro sentimiento. Senza di essa non siamo niente. La memoria indispensabile e
potente, è allo stesso tempo fragile e vulnerabile . È minacciata non solo
dall'oblio, suo vecchio nemico,ma anche
dai falsi ricordi che la invadono giorno per giorno. La memoria è invasa
continuamente dall'immaginazione e dalla fantasia e ammesso che c'è la
tentazione di credere nella realtà di ciò che è immaginario, finiamo per far
verità una nostra falsità. Per cui, d'altronde, non ha che un 'importanza
relativa, giacchè è allo stesso modo vitale tanto l'una che l'altra.
The final act of
the project was the burial of a time capsule. In it, we put some books, a
newspaper of the day, a T-shirt of the project, a light bulb, some other things that students thought will soon disappear from our lives… and Luis Buñuel’s text that
students would read later in the closing ceremony, with the names of all the teachers involved in the project
and the signatures of the coordinators from the four partner schools.
Afterwards, a
tree was planted next to it.
La Cápsula del Tiempo
El acto final del proyecto fue el entierro de una cápsula del tiempo. En ella se pusieron algunos libros, un periódico del día, una camiseta del proyecto, una bombilla, algunas otras cosas que los estudiantes pensaron que pronto desaparecerán de nuestras vidas... y el texto de Luis Buñuel que los alumnos posteriormente leerían en la ceremonia de clausura, con los nombres de todos los profesores implicados en el proyecto y las firmas de los coordinadores de las centros socios.
Después, se plantó un árbol en el lugar donde se depositó la cápsula.
WORKSHOPS In the morning, students participated in three different workshops:

Bookmarks: students created several models of bookmarks with different quotes
from Santiago Ramón y Cajal’s writings.
· Art:
students created some posters which made reference to modern artistic
expressions which will arguably be classics in the future
·
Laboratory: students worked on the embedding of brain tissue in paraffin. Then
they cut it, stained it and watched the results through the microscope.
Este día hicimos una excursión a Burgos para visitar el Museo de la Evolución Humana, en donde pudimos aprender sobre el origen del hombre y su evolución hasta lo que hoy somos. También visitamos el CAREX (Centro de Arqueología Experimental), donde los alumnos tuvieron la oportunidad de participar en unos talleres realmente interesantes: aprendieron cómo trabajar la piedra para crear hachas, cómo usar el arco y la flecha, cómo pintar las paredes utilizando un aerógrafo y cómo hacer fuego sin usar cerillas, obviamente. Por la tarde, el tiempo se puso tan frío y lluvioso que no pudimos dar un paseo por el casco histórico de Burgos.
We made a trip to Burgos in order to vist the
Museum of Human Evolution, where we
learned about the origin of the human beings and their evolution to what we are
today. We also visited the CAREX (Experimental Arqueological Centre) where
students could participate in some really interesting workshops: they learned
how to work stones to make hand axes, how to use a spear and a bow, how to
paint walls using an airbrush and how to make a fire without matches, obviously.
In the afternoon, the weather was so cold and rainy that we didn't have the chance to take a stroll around the old town centre.
Este día visitamos el Ayuntamiento, y uno de los concejales nos dirigió unas palabras de bienvenida y nos dio un pequeño obsequio. A cambio, nosotros le regalamos una camiseta con el logo del proyecto. Después, almorzamos en la Plaza mayor y posteriormente hicimos un recorrido por el casco histórico de la ciudad.
We visited the Town Hall and were received by one of the councillors, who dedicated us some warm words of welcome and gave a little present. In return, we presented him with a project's T-shirt. After that, we had a snack in Plaza Mayor and then we made a tour around the historic centre.
Este día disfrutamos de una excursión en canoa por el río Duratón en un pueblo que se llama San Miguel de Bernuy. Después de comer nos dirigimos a Segovia, donde visitamos su Acueducto, la Catedral y el Alcázar.
We enjoyed a canoe
trip along River Duratón gorge in a village called San Miguel de Bernuy. After
lunch, we headed for Segovia, where we visited the Aqueduct, the Cathedral and the Alcázar.
